Name the analysis, choose the pool setup, then continue to the separate starting-signal step.

Pause when you hear “take your mark”

This gives StrokeLab a tight starting point so it only scans the next 4 seconds for the start signal.

Listen to the race audio

Press play, listen for “take your mark,” then press pause exactly when it is said. StrokeLab will search only the short window after that moment instead of scanning the whole opening clip.

StrokeLab now scans only the 4 seconds after “take your mark,” looking for sudden sound changes in volume and frequency. Pick the candidate that matches the real start signal.

Step 5 · Confirm before video review

Review the controls before you start

Set your playback speed, then start the review once you are ready to mark strokes and turns.

What happens in video review

  • Press R for each stroke you want counted.
  • Press P only when the swimmer’s feet hit the wall on a turn. Do not press P at breakout.
  • Press Space or Finish Analysis when the race is complete.
