Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Swimmetrix respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information StrokeLab and Swimmetrix collect, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices you have. It covers our website and tools, Google sign-in, cloud sync, browser storage and cookies, and the third-party services we rely on. By using StrokeLab, you agree to the practices described here.

1.Information we collect

Information you create in the app

When you analyze a race in StrokeLab, you create information such as:

Google sign-in information

Signing in is optional. If you choose to sign in with Google, StrokeLab receives the basic account information needed to identify you and sync your saved analyses, which may include:

We use this only for authentication, account identification, and syncing your supported StrokeLab data across devices. We do not request access to unrelated Google data such as Gmail, Drive, Photos, or Calendar.

Technical information

Because StrokeLab is hosted and powered by Google Firebase, and because the app loads a few resources from content delivery networks (see Third-party services), those providers may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site. This can include your device and browser type, IP address, authentication events, and error or usage logs. StrokeLab does not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

2.How we use information

We use information to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your swim analysis data to serve advertising.

3.Where your data is stored

StrokeLab stores your analyses in two places, depending on how you use it:

Synced and locally saved data may include your race setup, timing and stroke marks, splits, chart data, 15 m times, summary metrics, the analysis name and swim date, and related session information. It does not include the original video file.

Note: if you use StrokeLab without signing in, your analyses are kept only in that browser on that device. Clearing your browser storage will remove them.

4.Your video stays on your device

When you upload or select a race video, StrokeLab uses it locally in your browser so you can scrub, mark strokes and turns, and mark 15 m crossings. Your video is never uploaded to Swimmetrix, Firebase, or any server, and it is not part of your synced or saved data. Only the timing marks and results you create from the video are saved. If we ever add a feature that handles the video file differently, we will clearly disclose it and update this policy.

5.Cookies and browser storage

StrokeLab and the services it relies on use cookies and similar browser-storage technologies, such as local storage, IndexedDB, authentication tokens, and device or session identifiers. These are used to:

In practice, StrokeLab itself stores your saved analyses in your browser's local storage, and Google Firebase Authentication uses browser storage and may set cookies to manage your sign-in session.

We do not use cookies for advertising, remarketing, or third-party marketing tracking, and we do not use them to sell your data. If we add analytics, advertising, or similar tracking in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

You can control or clear cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. Disabling them may stop features such as sign-in, cloud sync, or saved analyses from working.

6.Third-party services

StrokeLab runs in your browser and depends on a small number of third-party services to function. When your browser loads resources from these providers, they may receive standard request information such as your IP address and browser type:

These providers act as our infrastructure and library suppliers. We are not responsible for the independent practices of services you choose to visit through links from StrokeLab.

7.OmniCoach and poe.com

StrokeLab includes a link to OmniCoach, which is a separate AI assistant hosted on poe.com (Poe, operated by Quora). OmniCoach can use the data from your StrokeLab analysis, for example the OmniCoach CSV you export, to help generate race strategy, training suggestions, and stroke-by-stroke insights.

Important: OmniCoach runs on a different website that StrokeLab does not control. StrokeLab does not automatically send your data to Poe. Anything you paste, upload, or share into OmniCoach is sent by you to Poe, and is handled under Poe's Privacy Policy and Quora's privacy practices, not this one. When you leave StrokeLab and use poe.com, that site's terms and privacy policy apply.

If you would rather not share your swim data with Poe, simply do not use OmniCoach or do not enter your data there.

8.How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share or process information only in these limited situations:

9.Data retention

We keep your synced account and analysis data for as long as needed to provide StrokeLab, maintain your saved analyses, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Locally saved data stays in your browser until you delete it or clear your browser storage.

You may request deletion of your account-linked data by contacting us, and we may need to verify your identity first. Some technical logs or backups may persist for a limited period after deletion for security, backup, or legal reasons.

10.Your choices and controls

You are in control of your data. You can:

11.Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and Firebase and Google provide infrastructure-level security for stored and transmitted data. No website or online service can guarantee complete security, however. Please keep your Google account secure and avoid sharing sensitive information unnecessarily.

12.Children's privacy

StrokeLab is intended for general swim training and analysis. It is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. If you are under 13, please do not create an account or submit personal information without permission from a parent or guardian. If we learn we have collected such information without proper consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it; a parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion.

13.International users

StrokeLab can be accessed from many locations. If you use it outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.

14.Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, store, or share personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify users or request consent where required.

15.Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, contact us at swimmetrix@outlook.com.
